Apply Now: Research Opportunity Awards (ROA)
Oklahoma EPSCoR is now accepting applications for Summer 2011 Research Opportunity Awards. Deadline for submission is close of business on April 1, 2011. Faculty from primarily undergraduate institutions at regional Oklahoma universities may apply.
ROA awards are to support summer projects in labs at one of Oklahoma’s research-intensive institutions: Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, University of Oklahoma Norman campus, Oklahoma State University, University of Tulsa and the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation.
Maximum allowable budget of individual awards is $10,000. Funds may be used for summer salary support of the applicant and lab supplies of the sponsoring institution.
To apply, please submit a 1-2 page description of the proposed project, which includes a brief budget, as well as a statement outlining how knowledge and skills acquired during the summer research opportunity will be used to benefit the regional university’s educational mission. A letter of support from the lab sponsor, as well as biographical sketches of the regional university faculty member and lab sponsor are also required.
Award preference will be given to research proposals in the bioenergy field. However, laboratory research in all STEM fields may be supported through the program.
