Accepting Applications

Oklahoma NSF EPSCoR is accepting applications for the second cohort in the water research mentorship program for the 2024-25 academic year. There will be approximately monthly Zoom meetings with different technical and professional development topics related to water research and education on Wednesdays over the lunch hour (12:00-1:00 pm), commencing on October 9th, 2024. All participants will be matched into small mentorship groups with a senior researcher (e.g., faculty, postdoc) serving as group lead. Between Zoom technical sessions, mentorship groups will meet to complete follow-up activities related to the previous week's meeting topic and complete an online update form. The program is open to individuals at any career stage interested in or engaged in water-related research. We seek participants at the mentee level (e.g., high school students, college students) and mentor level (e.g., postdocs or faculty engaged in research projects at any level in Oklahoma). Our pilot program held in Spring 2024 was extremely well received and we look forward to welcoming our second cohort!

People interested in participating should complete the online application (link below) by September 30th. Applications will be reviewed over the month of September until all available positions are filled with formal acceptances and groupings released by the first week of October. This program is limited in the total number of participants, but those not selected for this year's program will have priority for involvement in subsequent offerings. As space is limited, it is expected that participants commit to completing the entire program (1 year long ~4h/month virtual activities with 1-2 half-day in-person events). Participation is free and voluntary.
