THE one-day event for Oklahoma entrepreneurs-in-waiting, academia, community mentors, and high-growth technology companies.

So, you want to be an entrepreneur? Perhaps you teach entrepreneurship or mentor young entrepreneurs. Or you want to hear from those who are already well down the entrepreneurial path.  Welcome to the 2011 Who Wants to Be an Entrepreneur? workshop, which will be held on Friday, September 30, at the Reed Center in Midwest City. The Reed Center is adjacent to the Sheraton Midwest City Hotel, which is located at 5800 Will Rogers, Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Now in its 9th year, this free annual event has expanded to include three separate sessions. The "Learn it!" session is designed for college students, young entrepreneurs and faculty who want to gain a better understanding of the critical steps involved in starting a business.  The "Teach it!" Session is a faculty member workshop offering techniques to teaching entrepreneurship, while the "Live it!" Session is a technology showcase for business, community and investment leaders.

Who Wants to be an Entrepreneur is an annual event sponsored by the Oklahoma Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), i2E, Inc., OCAST, the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, and the UCO College of Business.

Learn It – Entrepreneurship A to Z will walk college level students and young entrepreneurs through their first steps down the entrepreneurs’ path. Let’s say you’ve got an idea for a business and the enthusiasm to make it a reality.  Before jumping into the deep end of the entrepreneurial pool, ask yourself some key questions.  Can you make sense of the numbers, and determine realistic projections for your business for the next five years?   And most importantly, when you need capital for your startup, are you ready to deliver a compelling 20-minute investor presentation that results in money?  Limited to 250 attendees.  To register for this session, click the link at the bottom of this page.

Who Wants to Be an Entrepreneur? participants will have the opportunity to meet and talk with Oklahoma community and business leaders during the networking luncheon and reception that will add valuable contacts to any resource list.

Don’t miss this opportunity to Learn it, Teach it and Live it at the 2011 Who Wants to Be an Entrepreneur? workshop. The workshop is free, and lunch is provided. However, registration is required.
