PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Oklahoma EPSCoR anticipates the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) by the National Science Foundation for its EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement (RII) Track-2 grant program sometime in Fall 2013; we do not yet have a firm date.  Preparation to respond to the RFP must begin now, as the proposal requires research collaboration between a minimum of two EPSCoR jurisdictions and only one proposal may be submitted from each state or territory. Funding available for a collaborative proposal is $6 million, to be split among the partners over three years.  Several other states are moving forward already.

The Track-2 program will support research in any STEM field within the mission of NSF.  Researchers with potential or existing collaborations with researchers in other EPSCoR jurisdictions are encouraged to submit a Letter of Interest to be considered for Oklahoma EPSCoR sponsorship. A competitive process will be used to determine the final project for submission, with the State EPSCoR Advisory Committee making the determination, and the full proposal will likely be due to NSF EPSCoR on or around January 29, 2014.

Letter Content:

The letter should contain:

The title and description of the potential research project including its collaborative aspects, goals and objectives that is up to two full pages in length.  Those interested in responding to this call are strongly encouraged to review the Track-2 NSF/EPSCoR Solicitation from last year.  This solicitation can be found at:  http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2013/nsf13509/nsf13509.pdf.

  1. A list of the primary researchers and their institutions from each participating jurisdiction; and
  2. A two-page CV together with a list of current and pending support for the lead investigator in each jurisdiction, as well as any other anticipated key personnel from each jurisdiction.

It is strongly recommended that the PI in the collaborating jurisdiction check with its EPSCoR Office to ensure that the jurisdiction is interested and available to participate as a partner with your potential EPSCoR RII Track 2 proposal.

Letters not conforming to above specifications will not be reviewed. If you have any questions, please contact either:
